I found a walt!
I found a walt!
So I was in my local gym yesterday, plodding away on the treadmill, when I noticed a guy with a fairly massive beer gut, doing his induction with one of the instructors. Being the nosy bugger that I am, I decided to listen in to the conversation that had just struck up. "So what are you doing at the moment?" "I'm training in the Army mate." "Really, what regiment?" "Royal Marines mate." Little did this bloke know, the instructor he was talking to had served in RM, for 5 years previously. "So you're down at Lympstone then?" "Yea mate." "Are you doing Commando training or officer training?" "Officer training mate." "How far into training are you." "Six months." "So you're doing lots of yomping across Dartmoor?" A puzzled look appears on Walters face. "Nah haven't done any of that yet mate." And then the conversation changed and I stopped listening. About 15 minutes later, Walter climbs aboard the treadmill next to me, and plods along for the next 15 mins at a whopping 8.5km/h. At the end of that, he staggers off the treadmill, sweating buckets and looking like he's about to implode. Needless to say, the same bloke appeared this morning wearing one of the khaki green RM t-shirts, with 'Royal Marines Commando' emblazened on the back. So, there you have it. Someones either a bit desperate or a severe wannabe.
lol nice.
By the way does anyone know how many kilometers there are in a mile, or vice versa? Because im trying to run 6 miles in around 50 minutes but the treadmils are in kilometers, would I have to run 10km/hr for 50 mins? Or 11km/hr for 50 mins?
Sorry for the highjack, just didnt see a point in starting a new thread.

There is 1.6km in a mile. lol on the subject of Walts, there is a guy who use to go to my local gym who has the SAS ensignia tattoed on his uper arm, and he always trys to show it off. Who knows maybe he was in the SAS, he definetly doesnt look like he was but i dont suppose SAS tatoos would fit in nicely with the secrecy of the job.
