mustang my sympathies mate
Thanks Mark. It's a friggin disaster down there, and the lack of leadership is obvious. My company has sent about 400 people down, and I'll most likely be in a second wave going next week.
I'm fond of the 'Loot and get shot' policy, but only fer the types that wholley has mentioned. I'd be snagging chow and water if I was there. Plan to load up heavy on that stuff when I head down. Thanks fer all y'alls concern.

Im very sorry for all the Americans who have died and the ones that have lost there homes but the scale of looting might suggest it isnt that bad. I didnt hear the Tsunami victims looting places... well the Somalians probably would of

Yellowstone is not currently a threat. The volcanoes in Washington, Oregon and California will blow before Yellowstone. Mt. St. Helens is still rumbling.

I just did a check and Yellowstone is in 21st place (for eruption) behind Hawaii and others I mentioned.

there are good and bad people in all countries, do you not think nottinghams chavs would loot and cause trouble if the river trent burst its banks and the city was nearly evacuated

Once again!
Yellowstone is vulcanic but not an immediate threat.Loss of life would be minimal initially and can in no way be compared to the current disaster.
The eruption on Monserrat was far more damaging to the British than anything Yellowstone could do..

the eruption of yellowstone if it happened would be a thousand times that of monserrat

the loss of life would be huge, a lot more than the current crisis in new orleans, possibly the worse natural disaster this world has ever seen(whilst humans have been around)

the eruption of a super volcano is a planet changing event that happens very rarely its not a normal volcanic eruption

and yellowstone could go off any minute, its always a threat, though it could happen now or a couple of thousand years from now so its not very likely

I have heard that president bush is supposed to be flying over New Orleans today to see for himself the level of damage that has been caused.

More than likely then the city will have been (or soon will be) secured for his arrival?

I still cant get my head round all this mugging, raping etc..

In Asia there was very little civil disobedience, although I can remember children being snatched. Whereas there seems to be a mass of anarchy in the US - are we seeing the worst of American society? Maybe someone State side could also let me in on how it seems 95% of citizens in New Orleans are African American? Is this purely from the 1800s slave trade? I have never been and freely admit I`m ignorant on the subject.

I recently plucked this from the Internet:-

------
New Orleans' Black Neighborhoods Still Unsafe

By ALAN SAYRE
Associated Press Writer

NEW ORLEANS (AP) _ In a recent university experiment, police fired 700 blank rounds in a New Orleans neighborhood in a single afternoon. No one called to report the gunfire.

New Orleans residents are reluctant to come forward as witnesses, fearing retaliation. And experts say that is one of several reasons homicides are on the rise in the Big Easy at a time when other U.S. cities are seeing their murder rates plummet to levels not seen in decades.

The city's murder rate is still far lower than a decade ago, when New Orleans was the country's murder capital. But in recent years, the city's homicide rate has climbed again to nearly 10 times the national average.
