RM pilot?

Post by rockapemk1 »

Any idea how this one works? Do you still do the commando course and then start EFT??

You do the entire Commando Course. As per every body else who joins.

Your best bet is to ask El Prez or Rotary Bootie as they were both Helo Pilots in the Corp.

Do you need certain qualifications to become a pilot in the RM? or after you pass the training can you just apply for it since you are a RM?

cheers.

As far as I know buddy, the only place there are non-commissioned pilots is the AAC. And as for pilots in the RM, I'm told there are about a dozen; all of the roles are covered by the Junglie squadrons of the FAA. However... some of the FAA pilots do the All Arms Commando course, and earn their green lid that way. You'd need two passes at A-level for officer entry into any force.

Wrong out mate.

Helo pilots in the RM's are Sgt's and above. Same as the Pongos. As I have said ask El Prez or Rotary Bootneck, if they still bother posting on this site nowadays.

Nowadays, you have to do YO training, and choose pilot just like any other specialisation when you have got phase 2 training then your first draft out of the way. They do make some SNCO's pilots however they have to do the SOLE course first to get their commission to technically there are no longer any SNCO pilots.

Hurry up 8th December....I think i'm gonna Pass Out!!

is it true 3 BAS no longer exsist?

A mate of mine was a RM full screw who wanted to go pilot and ended up transferring to the Navy and becoming a two ringer and flying SeaKings.
