CGlee mate, my brother is in 855 Troop, Chatham Company so a few weeks ahead of you I should say. Things do calm down bruce, as the w***ers get weeded out, the training staff relax, well this is what has happened with my bro's troop, watch out for exercise Marshall Star, apparently it's pretty horrible, just keep ur shit wired mate you sound as though youre a good lad, I'm thinking about the Corps now as having spoken to a parachute trained REME, who's now in my bro's troop for RM training, he has put me off a bit and digging a little deeper his point about the Regiment was well made and it does seem as though there could be a lot of Nobbers within Paras, anyways bnest of lukc, by the way my brothers name is Omar Acid and the ex-REMe, Mark Tinson, ahve you heard the names, I would guess not but??????

Thanks mate, the names dont ring a bell but im pleased to hear the training team will relax as the weeks go by!!! Not for my sake, it doesn't bother me, but I feel sorry for them shouting all the time, they looked more stressed than us when we left to go on leave!!!!

Chief, actually dont count on the team calming down with your troop, my bro was telling me how pants it is, no offence but apparently half your troop looks like they should still be in junior school, you caught the school leavers pal, bad luck! He also saw the 858 in the mud, you have a lot of work to do a lot of your troop will fail I bet, they'll crack.
Focus
Cg,
if I were you bud I wouldn't worry too much. Training teams are different and it doesn't always depend on how you as a troop are performing, it's often just down to the personalities that are on the training teams.
Just remember not to take it personally, you'll get it whether you deserve it or not because that's just the way it is mate! No point stressing about the why's and how's just get your head down and enjoy it bud. When things are at their worst and you are threaders and feeling like wrapping your tits in just have a smile mate and get the other blokes grinning as well, doesn't need to be about anything just do it. It's th way ahead matey believe me.
Also if you haven't been tanked, mud runned, full bed muster on the Parade square at 0200, 0300 and 0400 at least once then you don't know what you're missing.
My training team were dropping spot inspections on us, with beastings if you had dropped on, right up until KS passout so don't sweat it mate.
Also remember that you're there and certain others who's advice is being dished out like it's nine o'clockers aren't so they know very little of what they're waffling on about. I'm sure you already know all of this bud and I'm just teaching you to press denims after 22 but I thought it should be said.
Keep your chin up bud and remember always, cheerfulness under adversity.

Oh go on then, just for you:Jon wrote:cglees!
whats the most difficult thing that youve been made to do so far?
What kind of running do you have to do?
What age are the others in your troop?
Whats the food like?
Good luck in the future mate!
1) Bottom field on the prmc
2) Nearly all gym work, double marking time and sprinting everywhere. Sometimes get camp circuits. Have had 2 3mile runs in 4 weeks!!!! You run everywhere around camp though!!! Most of the time you have to run, and when you dont you do anyway cos its easier than marching!!!
3) My troop is very young, less than half are over 20
4) Sometimes its good, sometimes its slops. The chef's are moody gits all the time!!!

You think the bottom field was the hardest thing, jeez man i thought the hardest thing was turning down your offer of late night lovin. HAHAHA. I reckon its funny that we think its hard because lets face it we aint got a clue yet. Seriously i think the hardest thing is the lack of sleep. Running isnt really a problem. Whatever you find hard just grit your teeth and bear it and remember your not in it alone, carrying on is what being a marine is all about.
Without Pain, Without Sacrifice!
Worst thing
Getting hauled by shore patrol for bagging off in an alley when you should have been on the way back to camp, never a good thing
Cglees ,good effort nod sorry Recruit, when you were wrighting 858 in the mud did you happen to see the number 227 out there, have alook next time , and I know there will be a next time I was one of them there training team members once not to long ago. Don't listen to the wanabes to much you'll be alright , it all just clicks one day and your troop will be the dogs bo#####ks , Good luck Nod sorry Recruit
Always Smile
