I was on the all arms team during this time.

I was a PW. I had a mate on the officers team and had a tp cdr later who was in the same batch.

Where did you get your info from.

Well if you where the PTI on his course why are you saying that he passed his YO batch course.

He did not and left early.

There was a clear lower deck at CTCRM by the CO as he felt that it would effect moral.

It did everybody was chuffed that he was out the gate.

State clearly do you say he passed his course and was awarded his beret.

S'cuse the interruption. My understanding is that Edward passed the Commando tests in the required time, and was awarded his green beret, but chose to leave CTC prior to the end of his course for personal reasons. Confused of Truro. :-?

OK heheh. I always get the two mixed up.

You can kill an urban legend here. I have always been informed that Andrew failed his Cdo tests and got dragged around the 30 miler by his personal detective and that it is recorded on video.

You can certainly put me right here if you say other wise being on his team

Are you saying that Andrew passed all his Cdo tests without aid. If so that urban legend must die.

I am however 100 percent correct on Edward.

Andrew, unlike his younger brother, Prince Edward, he completed the commando course and won a green beret (Andrew Pierce, Journo)
The above from the mass of blurb printed about the pair of them.

You also have to ask yourself this question. Have you ever seen a picture of Edward with a green beret.

It would have been recorded with great gusto if he had.

OK chaps epees back in sheaths; shall we accept that Edward didn't, Prince Fornicating didn't either, but time and photographers moments have undone us, and he possesses a hat, green for the use of by foul means. 8)
I adjourn to the bar.

I can assure you that no green berets were ever given away in OTW.
Defference to royalty never existed at any level of the wing.In fact there was a directive that demanded impartiality in all dealings with the 3 princes.(all of whom posess the green beret).I was instramental in selecting Edward to attend the Admiralty interview board. He did enough to show potential to be a Royal Marines Officer.I left the Corps before he commenced training, but followed his progress with obvious interest.I've
heard many stories, but choose only to believe what Ive witnessed.

PS.The Corps had nothing at all to gain from sliding royalty through the system.(I can't speak for individuals)
