Can they exist in perfect harmony?
I hadn't had eczema since I was about 14 (11 years ago) but recently I've suddenly got a few patches again. I have a small patch on one knuckle of my left hand, and a small patch on the inside of each elbow where the arm bends.
I seem to remember a few years back that one of my mates was rejected for the army because they noticed he had eczema during the medical, although I can't remember how bad his was. Would the RM send me on my way if I applied as I am now?

maybe........
maybe, if its bearable, then i wouldnt go to ur civvie doc, as he will put it on your med docs, and you will be rejected from the word "go". If you had it a few years ago, you may be ok (i THINK the cut off is 3 or 4 years) then when you go to your medical just hammer the skin cream and get through it as best you can.
But you have to consider if you want a career with eczema, you never know how bad it might get when in all sorts of different enviroments....
hope it helps matey let me know.

Ok so it sounds like I need to get it sorted before I submit my application then.
Say I get it to clear up but it was to resurface half way through training at Lympstone. Would I be automatically binned then even if I was doing alright or would they be willing to overlook it if it didn't affect my performance?
It's literally nowhere else apart from the places I said in my first post, and apart from looking sore it doesn't really bother me. I still go diving, ice climbing etc and don't see how it could impede my performance if I were a soldier.

you'll most likely be put in the hunter coy until they make a better decision if it flares up in training. 99% sure they won't just bin you without having a good look at you. Also when your in week 15, they've probably spent ten's of thousands of pounds on you and they aren't just going to kick you out without a dam good reason.
just remember no one down there wants you to fail and they'll do everything they can to get you through. Plus when you talk to anyone about it, just answer their questions but don't volunteer anything and you'll be fine.
Good luck with it

Well I started training again (swimming, running, doing weights etc) and the eczema has vanished. If exercise is the cure then I can't see it resurfacing at CTCRM because I can't exactly see myself being sat still for long!
Just need to sort out my broken big toe now, then maybe I can finally send my forms off.
