Essence-I'm in love again....
imagine pulling up to the lights beside some boy racer in a Corsa...outrun this, numbnuts.
Not being pedantic, but - this is a Vulcan cannon, 20mm if I recall, miniguns are 7.62mm with shorter barrels. But I'm not arguing, its still sex on wheels.

Our lads were practicing on it on Otterburn live firing ranges before we deployed to Afghanistan, but we dont own any in the battalion yet.
We should get it soon i should think. Or perhaps in time for our next tour.
I think the government are flapping about the RM's getting into similar situations that 3 Para battlegroup got into during Herrick IV, and therefore giving them some extra firepower. Typical that we just get f*cked off when we are taking rounds, and then as our tour ends Blair says he will let commanders have whatever they need.

Ahoy there!
My experience of that particular elite unit, when they are not inventing jobs for themselves, is that they are only fit to make wets for Royal - even then they need supervising.
TTB, 1986 - one of the instructors was a WO from the SASC. He carried a briefcase around with his name rank, and SASC embossed in gold. The 'C' was strangely eroded in comparison to the other letters, giving the impression that he was in the 'SAS'.

[quote="Paratrooper01"]Good bit of kit. Saw the RM with them out in afghan before i left, test firing.
How is this possible when they only came out 2 weeks ago, and the ammo only came out 5 days ago. Just finshed training on it 2 days ago first company to get trained on them. Its a good bit of kit, max range is 2km and it has AP rounds. It can go through 50mils of armour, 0.5 can go through 19mil. Awesome.

And I was cuffed when I found some Armour piercing ammo for the SLR,. On a more serious note we have alway prided our selves on not many home kills, are we in danger of becoming Americanized by to much indiscriminate fire power. I say this to learn as during my time we only really had one war and I stand with head bowed to the people now who go from firefight to fight.
