The sinking of the HMS Invincible in 1982

Hi all, i´m new here and i want to know your opinion about the HMS Invincible in 1982, it was attacked? it was sunk?

In Argentina believes it was sunk, and the material they have to prove it is too good to be a crap or rubbish.

I have some of it and i´d like you to give your opinion.

If it had been hit do you think that there would have any casualties on the ship?. If so how do you think that the Royal Navy kept it all quite even after the war. How do you think that the Royal Navy kept all the crew quite about being hit by a missile for over 23 years. Do you think that some one might have written a book on this attack by now, also there were a number of journalist on board, now how did they stop them for saying any thing for 23 years. It makes a for a good story in Argentina but that is about all

In the cemetery of San Carlos are the names of the crew who rest in peace under the water of Falklands Islands.

Lynda Cash a member of the crew told something about those horrible days.


Personally, i think (after reading a lot) the government kept it in secret as they did with HMS Dasher in ww2.

I very much doubt it was sunk as my brother was serving on it at the time. He never said anything about it and you would think something like a ship being sunk underneath you would come up in conversation now and again. My mum also went to meet him on his return and it looked like the same shiphe left on. Unless of course he wasn't my brother but a clone, where's my tinfoil hat gone

Mmm, i don´t think so, the attack on may 30 was real, two argentines pilots of the Argentine Air Force where there, they saw an aircraftcarrier. and dropped their bombs.

And i have a photo of an aircraftcarrier which pretend to be the Invincible coming to Porstmouth on september.

Seems to be the Invincible 05, but isn´t it.
It has his phalanx cover and if you remembered the other carrier Hermes, came from Malvinas in bad conditions, but here this ship look like a new one.
And Invincible was 166 days on the sea!!!

The argentine´s investigators says it´s the twin R07, Ark Royal, not Invincible.
The R07 was ready to enter in actions in 1982, and not in 1985 like the "oficial history" says.
I have a video tape of Ark Royal in 1982 on the sea in perfect conditions.

Has anyone else bought some Argentinian Elvis poo rescued from the bowl he croaked on? Not the poo of an Argentinian Elvis or poo from the period when The King went through his frog impersonation phase but the actual poo he strained a lung to eject on that fateful day. If not then check ebay as there is a roaring trade going on and it is your chance to own your very own piece of rock'n'roll history.

I recently read Martin Middlebrook's "The Argentine Fight for the Falklands" which covers the Argentine confusion over just what they bombed on the 30th May. I've read quite a few accounts of the war and it's certainly interesting to compare accounts from both sides. If I win the lottery I'd like to buy copies of Freedman's "Official History".

Incredible how there aren't any photos of the Invincible or her twin sister ship being sunk! Surely one of the casualties, press or Argentinian flyers would have taken a photo.
