Can a Irish become a Army Officer?

Hello,
I'd like to know if it is possible to become Army officer as a irish. I don't have a british citizen passport. I know I could become one as part of the Royal Irish, however, I'll be studying Uni in Scotland. Is still possible to be officer while I'm studying in Scotland. I'm only looking at as a reserve.
