This is a question for anyone who actually knows. I have been trying to re join for over a year, since leaving I have managed to be on the wrong side of the law for fighting and drinking. Shit I know but that's that. Are minor public order offences taken into account, I will have 2 affray charges and 2 public order charges by the time I can go back to my recruiter. The army are aware of all but 1 public order (although probably will be now I've posted on here!) And said they will take me back unless I get a gash custodial or something which is unlikely. Will mentioning the new public order be the end of me?

Your Recruiter has the rights to say No Go away, if in his judgement you are not fit to rejoin. He will then put a note in your file so if you go to another ACIO/AFCO they will be aware of your past too.

It would appear by your post that you find it hard staying out of trouble?

worrying will not help the issue, the army is slightly shady anyway they cant really expect men that will go to war to be prefect clean citicens, allthough they try to portray that image i know a few people who are in with turbulent pasts- just steer clear of drugs and wait 6 months

I've decided to just give them a copy of my records and let them decide, things have turned out well so far at court, got a noy guilty and a fine, just one last thing in a few weeks and its done, just hope when its all over I can get back to the only thing that I want to do. Thanks anyway.

I depends how recent it is and how the nitty gritty went. If they decide its one of those things then you may get lucky and your recruiter may put his neck on the block for you - so to speak. I had similar predicament when i was joining the regs as I had a record for scrappin a few times when I was younger but luckily for me it was spent by time I was joining. However I was in bother at time of joining so was made to sweat by the police as to wether they would charge me. I made the decision at the time not to tell my recruiter which with hindsight was or could of been russian roulette. luckily for me though no charges were made the polices final words were ' the forces will sort you out'. some things can turn out for the good.

Yeah, the w.o had a word with me and said I'm borderline, as I'm re-inlisting I should know better, he just said I have to prove myself, seein as my application has been in for a year and a half and I've been on a few courses I hope that will be a benefit, but I'll just keep on training and attending any insight and fitness weekends they put on and hopefully show him I want it. Its all my own fault at the end of the day and just wish I never left, but that's hindsight for you. Guess I can only learn from it all, but that's hindsight for you.
