RA phase 2 need info!!!!

hi im joining the army
was going to go para but shins packed up a month before i was due to do prac
now looking at doing observation post assistant with 7 para rha with the intention of moving on to 4/73 later in my career
does anybody know much about the training involved with this role that ill recieve in phase 2????

Sounds interesting, have you asked about this role at your AFCO?

yeah i did and he said he would have to find out from my other recruiter when he gets back after xmas

Any one that becomes a Para in any Branch of the Army has to do the P Course, so if your shins are not up to joining the Regiment what makes you think that you will get in via the back door.

That aint exactly true, theres a lot more than a few in the army who have wings but have never attempted p coy let alone passed it.
Things you feel like doing after being hit in the liver :
-Vomitting
-Suffocating
-Shitting yourself
-Passing out
-Crying for your mummy
-Stop taking part in any kind of violent sport.......

Well the RA chaps all used to have to do the P Course and were proud to have done it. Still when we were an Independant Brigade quite a few years back only the odds and sods like the Vicars just did their jumps.

Whats wrong with your shins? Is it shin splints?

If so they will recover over time, so it may be worth while delaying your joining date.

yeah iv got shin splints and im doing an army bursary and they want me to get on the prac within the next month and doctors have told me not to run for a month then start running 1.5 miles then build it back up every few weeks
