I was just wandering What is the best time you've ever got for 1.5 miler? What type of different training do you do to improve your 1.5 mile time?

1.5 miles is a relatively short distance.
I find sustained sprint sessions very valuable. You can incorporate these in interval training, or as a stand alone session. You have to push it though to gain any noticeable benefit.

I find interval running very useful when training for any running goal.
For example I might do 8x200m
(200m jog + 200m sprint, 8 times)
You can build this up to 300m and 400m sections.

Normal running (i.e. not interval) for 1.5 miles, try running 1 mile and also 2 miles, not just 1.5 miles.
This helps you adapt to running around that distance.
If you can run 2 miles at a good pace, 1.5 will seem much easier.
And when you can consistently run 1 mile in a really good time, you can then push that out to 1.5 miles - which is just another 800 metres (keep telling yourself that!)

Running longer distances also helps, as this gets your body used to running in general and your technique should improve.

My worst 1.5 time is 9.50mins, i'm not a expert trainer but what i did might not work for you but i started off doing 3miles with every lap i went up this massive hill(this is at best effort) then do the same and gradually increased the mileage, before i did phase one i was already running 8 miles but i didn't time it this was just my best effort, now my run time is 8.33mins at my last PFT. Diet has to change aswell like i said mate im not a expert but i was eating protien and carbs...basically stay away from chips and your kebabs.

I'm not going to give you advise im not sure about, i could only tell you what i was eating..i was eating lots a fish tuna is best but you'll get bored so just read the back of them and give it a mix (you want low fat), rice, pasta, potatoes and chicken. Like i said mate keep it low fat but keep some fats in your diet. Work hard and good luck.
