Migraine Headaches

Post by dave1234 »

This treatment has been catching on in the States recently. I have seen it used successfully with two people suffering from migraines [ many migraines are food related…. for example MSG in Chinese food, some chocolate and red wines etc .. and that area should be checked out first ]. They claim that it can fix a lot of back and lower extremity problems. I can see it doing that in some cases, though not all. If there are knots or adhesions in the muscles, it cannot help with that. As normal, a doctor should always be consulted first. For anyone who living on painkillers, this might be something to check out. X-rays are taken before and after, and highly accurate measurements are made. The guy who treats me [Al Meilus… not an Atlas specialist ] has about a 90% success rates with migraines [ non food related ]. His concept is that the scalp gets pulled down by two muscles at the back of the neck called the occipitals. By releasing the pressure on them, this causes less pressure on the nerves in the scalp area. He says that by balancing the tension in the muscles on either side of the Atlas, it can help correct it’s position. He also works on the forehead muscles. I don’t get migraines myself, but know a lot of people who do. All have had their pain reduced using these methods… some completely, others to the degree that they can function normally. Stress from combat etc can cause muscles to tighten. Al treats a lot of returning servicemen. Some of the people who have been treated with the two methods have manged to get off painkillers completely, others have been able to cut down.
