Aargh its doing my head in I cant remember the name of that pub, the pub at the other end of the front wall on the roundabout was a poofters haunt, which myself and an oppo realised after drinking our first pint!!! Large steps out the door. 2 mins from union Street and the pub that was called Star of the West, strong cider and carried home drunk as a skunk.
Also watch out for the phoenix in the stone house vicinity. My younger self and some fresh faced colleagues made the same mistake!

This term came about after the RN ships had copper metal sheets attached to their hulls
Only the Carribean Fleet had copper bottoms.
T'was to combat a nasty worm,Nothing to do with the regular weeds and such.
English Harbor Antigua Had two capstan's which could pull a ship over for scrubbing Her Erm,Bottom.
The Royal Navy Re-Built the old Capstans in 1954.The rather larger Ships of the Line had to bug out as they could not get across the Bar and were to heavy to be rowed in
Got some phot's of the Crimbo Party in English Harbor circa 1987.
Dink full of champa's and playing footy with the Tarantulas.
The view from Shirley Heights is stunning.AKA.Shirley's Tights.
When I finally figure out photobucket I'll post them
