Where do bootnecks hide?

Post by Yorkie Malone »

Go right to the bottom of Lost Oppos and you will see me looking for John Beattie, there have been 542 hits, nearly a whole commando unit looking for him.

But I the went up the page and there are a total of 4223 hits and 17 replies, and from that only a few "finds".

Yes I have had emails of Try 192.com, try electorial roll, try anything. but bootnecks when told to go for cover .... they do ... big style.

Is there some little "den" in each town where they secrete themselves, never to show thier face again.

They can't just disappear of the face of the earth ... can they??

I must admit that when you click into the email list it is almost like being on a parade and shouting "Royal Marines Call the roll". I think that this is the biggest list of Ex RM's available to each and everyone of us. And from that each one that list knows someone else.

TONY How many are on that list, you may borrow my toes to help you count!

Waste of time going to the RMA as they don't bother with names just collect the subs.

So come "Where do they hide?"

G'day Yorkie - I managed to disappear from '66 'til now...but there again
I'm not sure whether anyone noticed -

Some move off to Norway, Canada, 'Ozz etc... but most will by now be scanning for a pension perhaps ? In that case perhaps you could try
MPNI ( Ministry of Pensions and National Insurance ) at Benton,
Newcastle - they may - may - be able to assist. Here in Norway we can
punch in someones name and an appriximate location and send to a
special number for tracing - maybe you have the same opportunity in
the UK ? Mobile 'phones can be a blessing - sometimes.

Beattie was an Admiral in my time !
Good luck mate....

Aint got a clue. But I do know they seem to vanish off the face of the earth.

And then when you find them, they come up with comments like. "Well I've been here all the time!"

They are all out there somewhere.

As for John, well he missed this reunion in Arbroath, but we have till 2007 now to find him.

As the song says.... I'll keep on searching
