Various MT & Sigs ratings
Does anyone know the whereabouts of Tom Whitbread and Clem Miller. They were both MT Corporals in 45 in Aden 1964/65. We had many a rough night in the JNCO's club in Little Aden but one in particular at the RAF JNCO's club in Steamer Point. That night Chick Chegwidden [C/Sgt (S)] took off Sammy Davis Junior with great effect for about two hours. Don't remember much about the truck ride back to L.A. If it comes to that, does anyone know where Chick Chegwidden is? What about Big John Corrigan?
Fred, Wish I could help with their wherabouts, I too served with both of them, Chick in 45 63/64 where I had him and Buster Brown (PTI) as escort to me as linesman repairing a line at the base of Cap Badge. Still have the photo somewhere, always felt I must be valuable, gash-hand marine guarded by two colour sergeants. Big John, what a gent, was TQ in 42 cdo sigs 65/67 and then company store C/Sgt at Sigs Coy in Eastney, rescued me one morning parade when I was still very hung-over and put me to work testing dunlopilla mattresses in the bedding store. Always called you `kid', particularly when he was trying to get me to slow down whilst I was aiming my FFR landrover on the road to Mersing.

I also, along with many others, witnesses the Chick Chegwidden roadshow. On this occassion it was in Singers (the NAAFI at HMS Terror I think, circa 1968). We got double value on that night as he performed "passing Strangers" by Sarah Vaughan and Billy Ecstine, taking on both parts. It was hillarious, especially when he got the two roles mixed up.
John Corrigan was the CQMS at the signals wing when I arrived, naive and raw from training, for a S3 course. Between them, he and the Coy Comd - one Percy "My wife's got the biggest ...." Bream - frightened the life out of me.
But characters like these are still remembered with affection and respect after all these years.

John Corrigan
Last time I served with John was at Stonehouse, he was Sqn 'Q' for HQ 3 Cdo Bde Sigs Sqn - 1972. I have been in contact with him fairly recently, he is living on Hayling Island. He was relieved by Jim Norris, anybody heard from Jim recently ?
