OASC & RAF Reserves

I attended OASC last week and unfortunately I wasn't selected this time around. I fully intend to apply again next year and am looking forward to receiving a letter explaining why I wasn't taken in so I can work on that and improve myself.
In the meantime though (before I head down to the AFCO and ask when I have some spare time), does anyone know if there is much point of me currently attempting to join the reserves for the moment for more experience/being part of the RAF in some capacity even though I fully intend to apply for OASC again next year?
