The padre that did our remembrance service tonight has invited us to visit him in Oz next year, he lives 80k north of Sydney.
Nice bloke, bit too fire and brimstone for poor little CofE me though!
You can have peace.
Or you can have freedom.
Don't ever count on having both at once.

And the life that I have
Is yours

I am doing the remembrance service in Brum today - Sd all pressed and shoes bulled to the CSMs standard at the factory (just hope my RSM thinks so!).

A quick joke:

a farmer rings the Vet and asks him for more of the fertility pills he prescribed for his bull. The Vet asks what they were called so he can write another prescription to which the farmer replies, "I dunno, but if it helps, they taste of aniseed!"

A quick thought:
Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends (John 15:13).

A quick prayer (The Keifer Prayer):
"Lord, I shall be very busy this day. I may forget thee. But do not thou forget me. Amen."

We will remember them

Hope the day went well for you Vic
See you managed to get in a quick thought and a quick prayer though mate  Bless you my son.
But do not thou forget me
How thoughtfull that is, `specially today

Hypes, we spent ages going round all the Anglican churches down here, trying to find an oldee stylee God botherer in order to give young Jack a sense of the Christian ideal. How disappointed were we then? :-?
Happy clappy gone mad, the lot of`em  Any church where the vic wears board shorts, carrys a guitar and introduces himself as "Hi, my name`s Willow" got thinned out  Still haven`t found a decent one :(
All they want to talk about is empathy, how they understand how everyone feels, ffs  Harry, how do you think Jesus felt as he was crucified?
Er, dunno mate, I`ve had better Fridays? :o I bet he wished he`d`ve gone on a long weekend instead
Er, went down like lead balloon :-?

We`ll all now sing hymn number 643, "Has anybody seen J C?"

Five foot nine, from Palestine,
He turns water into wine,
Has anybody seen JC?

Virgin Mary, she`s the most,
She`s been kissed by the holy ghost,
Has anybody seen J C?

You missed the verse:

JC's a hoot, He's no fool,
Walked across my swimming pool,
Has anybody seen JC?

Used to sing about nine verses to this when we were on way to or from Church parade when I were a lad.

Often followed by Hey ho Sir Rowley or I have a girl in Albertuck!

Oh yes, happy daze.

Well, the weather started with rain and ended with rain but we had sun during the parade so all went well on the day!
