Hi, there just registered.
currently a serving police officer and have been chatting to the local provost today who said they would be happy to take me.
I've still yet to seek permission from my force, wondered if there were any other police on here or if you knew of stumbling blocks the police put in your way before I go knocking on my chief supers door.
Cheers

Welcome aboard Mackey,
there are several former serving who are now in the Bill as well as the odd(very odd indeed) current MP types and they have fark all else to do but to answer your questions I`ll give one a poke and get him to contact you as he is unlikely to see your post here mate
And good luck mate

No Problem
You shouldn't have any problems.
As Police Chaplain I have found that there are quotas regarding joining the TA and they are also qualifications with some forces regarding the length of service required before joining.
The best bet is to get the offer in place and then, before you sign anything, take it up the chain to your LPU Commander for his or her approval.
A good indicator of outcome will be the number of people in your nick or on the force generally that are involved with the TA. If there aren't many, the likelihood of a positive outcome is greater.
HTH,
P

I'm police and got a reserve RAF VRT commission. I had a complete B.A. getting mine sorted with work. However this is becasue im still inside my first 2 years. The process would have been quite simple if i'd finished those 2 years. I'll PM you with everything.

Harry,
Dropped a bollock thro' lack of memory retention.
Gave Rozzer the wrong Pln it was 'Crawley'. Did get
mine right tho'. Farnham, superb 13 Pln. with ex
SAS Sgt. Gonzales..... of that ilk and all the others.
Amazing number of former SF guys interspersed in
our Dunkirk Company HSF. Some with operational
wings. One with said wings had latterly served with
the RMR prior to joining our motley crew. The CSM
former 'jam stealer' RASC /RCT, then HSF told him
to remove his wings. He got a terse reply and the
wings survived. Perce, RAF and RM all became HSF
Queensmen. We were tasked to defend Key Points
(which I will not list) in S.E.England against Spetsnatz
incursions.
HSF should never have been disbanded ! :multi:
