the question is what mainstream political party has the guts to really do something about it?

Conservatives are the most favourable immigration limiting policy (Labour ignores them, the Lib Dems invites them). But if its a total end to it that you want, vote the BNP (I wouldnt though).

Anyone know what is going to happen to many Iraqi and Afghan families who fled the Baathists and Taliban? Will they go back. (propably doesnt matter really, ex-baathists and ex-Taliban will probably come here).

Its even happened before - ex-Taliban, who still consider the UK as thier enemy, now live here. The problem is that the government allows in aslym seekers who 'fear for thier lives', which is a too broad statement - does it meen we let paedophiles and murders in because they fear for thier safety?

As you said the Conservatives look the better option out of the three. But i'm 100% on them, Lib Dem not worth the thought. An Tony Blair an Labour are the worst thing to happen to this country, I wish they would pack up and ship off never to return. So I think that I will be voting BNP.

In answer to my question I'd go with the Conservatives. Voting BNP is probably taking a bit too far, although walking through London sometimes I do wonder.

There are some great immigrants of all cultures and nationalities who work their backsides off but unfortunately there are a whole load that are on the scrounge.

The immigration policy needs to be toughened up and then enforced, the appeal procedure needs to be abolished and asylum seekers shouldn't be allowed in unless they can bring some very useful skills or cash.

Blunkett proposed refusing 'refused Asylum Seekers' any benefits and taking their children into care on humanitarian grounds. Tories rejected the idea as 'inhumane'.

He's just proposed another idea for restricting immigration. Howard has rejected it as too draconian.

Political expediency is what drives politicians [of all persuasions] not what's best for the country.

I wouldnt go as far as voting BNP either. I agree with what Mr Grimsdale said, that immigrants should be allowed in if they have useful skills. Nothing wrong with new cultures and traditions (with the BNP is power would we still be able to get a curry late at night?).

Voting BNP anyway is a waste. I agree that many people vote for them as a rebellion vote to show the big three that the people have lost faith in thier policies, but voting for them gives the BNP a propaganda boost.

Alright lads, less of the BNP talk. The topic was about the Dutch and what they are doing.

I have spent a lot of time in Holland and have several Dutch friends. All the cloggies I know, and no they are not all right wingers, are heavily fed up with the influx of migrants they have had. While most normal cloggies just want a quiet life they are fed up with their nationality being undermined by scrounging third worlders inundating their cities.
The intelectual left wing do gooders who encouraged immigrants have lost the arguement. If it can happen in Holland maybe, just maybe, it can happen here as well.
