Guardsman Iain Mark Wright

Post by dwarfy »

Guardsman Iain Mark Wright (1st Battalion Grenadier Guards)

On the 23rd of November 2006 Iain took his own life for reasons we will most likely never know of for certain, he was 20 years old and had a great career and life ahead of him.

Iain had won best 'crow' during training and had recently been selected for promotion.
Having previously served in Bosnia, Iain had recently returned from Iraq having proudly served his country.

His Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Carew Hatherley, said: "Guardsman Ian Wright was an outgoing and friendly soldier.

"He was a very popular member of the Battalion and a very good friend to those that knew him.

"Guardsman Wright was a rising star in his platoon and had been selected to attend the next Lance Corporal's promotion course.

"He enjoyed life in the Grenadier Guards and was an excellent Guardsman. We will miss him greatly and our prayers go out to his family and friends."

All those who knew him will miss him greatly, and he wont ever be forgotten.

Rest in Peace

My deepest sympathy to his family, friends and comrades.

I hope he finds the peace that eluded him in life.

He will be remebered.
