Welbeck

Post by SHWBXM »

Hello everyone,
I am currently in the application process of Welbeck College. I have been up for an open day and the school seems very well suited to my academic wants. I have always wanted a career in the military as an officer, and previously had wanted to be a Royal Marine. Since I have had the availability to look at Welbeck as an option, my career aspirations have changed suitably to increase my chances of going there. I have looked indepth at the job of a Marine Engineering Officer in the Navy and would like to compare it to that of an engineer in the Army. My main worry with the Marine engineer is being stuck in an engine room for my career. As I will be applying for both Army and Navy i would be greatly appreciative if someone could give me some information on the structure of the engineering regiments, predominantly the Royal Engineers, background information of the corps, and information in the day to day work.

I know its a lot to ask but thanks in advance for any replies.

Sam
