Former squaddie Andy Butler is running 13miles with a 75lb FRIDGE on his back this weekend — for the Sun-backed Help for Heroes campaign.

The dad of two is being sponsored by friends and family, but now hopes a fridge maker will help.

Warehouse manager Andy, 41, who served with Royal Green Jackets, added: “People might think I look crazy running with a fridge on my back, but our servicemen and women should come first at a time like this.”

He has already run one half marathon with his fridge, raising £3,600.

And he causes a stir training near his Northampton home. Andy said: “You see motorists blink and do a double take.”

The Great North Run is on Sunday in Newcastle. Donate through Andy’s web page www.justgiving.com/butsh4h.

There's a full stop at the end of the link that shouldn't be there. :)
