A couple of years ago I bought a load of Iraqi surplus 7.62 NATO.On the packaging it was labelled up to a certain well known US ammo manufacturer. So I guess they have been smelling American powder as they shot at our lads!.
Its a funny old world.

Well the arms industry is fickle, Bush's family sold to Hitler until 1943.

7.62 US? Our military hasn't used 7.62x39 for a long time. We have the 240 G and it has a 7.62X54. Winchester and the other ammo companies here make it for private use, but it is near 12-24 dollars a box. I doubt you bought ammo from Iraq. Though the US under the Socialist piece of shit Bill Clinton did sell arms to Muslims in the Balkans to kill Serbs with. So I wouldn't doubt if grenades, mortars and such made in the USA could be found in Iraq. Muslims from Europe have been helping the insurgents.

After yeasterday I believe Iraq and its people should pay the same price the American Indian paid for their brutality and resistance. Plus look, lets face it we need the oil.
professional soldiers
Mercenaries?

Professional I found in the military and private sector is just they politically correct synonym for scoundral.

Make your contact all you want. Me personally, I'm make their water undrinkable and force them into a city and surround it. 5-9 days and most all of them would be dead. And what is the big deal? We need the oil, they want to die anyway and global populations need regulating.

Get off the guilt trip, there is no cruelty, just the struggle to survive.

A professional soldier does his job, well, and doesn't boast about it. God knows where you got that BS statement from.

Yeah cheers for all your topper comments, I don't give a damn how the enemy is defeated either, and what guilt trip? However anyone with an ounce of common dog knows you can't just go around saying or doing what the hell you want because of media, World opinion etc. We're not the Nazis. I would love to fight the enemy on thier own terms, but it's not practical any more.

If it takes me a while to reply to your next pile of crap, it's because I am out doing the job you're DS'ing from your armchair, not because I am backing down.

This is a bit of a backgrounder. Positions were made clear back then, so Jojo82, this'll help you catch up:

Also this bears remembering:

In order to succeed under such demanding conditions they will require unwavering maturity, judgment, and strength of character. Most importantly, these missions will require them to confidently make well-reasoned and independent decisions under extreme stress -- decisions that will likely be subject to the harsh scrutiny of both the media and the court of public opinion. In many cases, the individual Marine will be the most conspicuous symbol of American foreign policy and will potentially influence not only the immediate tactical situation, but the operational and strategic levels as well. His actions, therefore, will directly impact the outcome of the larger operation; and he will become, as the title of this article suggests -- the Strategic Corporal.

Gen. Charles Krulak, USMC - 1999

The media are what makes the corporal's actions strategic through amplification.

I really don't want to enter this as an ongoing shit-fest.
I will however make this point.
The 7.62x59 better known in the US as the .308 Winchester was at one time the standard NATO round. There are almost as many.308 SLR,s around the world(Both from Belgium and Israel)As there are 7.62x39 AK's and SKS'Still in use.
Don't get me started on the much maligned 7mm round.
I have a 7mm Mag.Bolt action Browning.
When Target is hit,It don't move around much.

You are doing the job? Futilly from a strategic viewpoint. I sold the t-shirt you are trying to earn in a garage sale a long time ago.

Killing the enemy isn't practicle anymore? Why not? People mde different? Enemies are so different are they? I bet if those Iraqi's were wearing swastikas with V-2's pointed at you're multi-cultural diverse metropolis shouting death to Jews and Nigras your Tommy ass would be ordered to firebomb Ramadi, execute their fasnatical prisoners and reduce them to ashes and keep the survivors under your heel for 6 decades like we did the Germans.

Professional as I said is the synonym for scoundral in todays world. I just resigned from a professional position due to the numbers not adding up other professionals said did.

I have no tollerance for those who tollerate political correctness and global Bolshevism.

You will find no joy in your New World Order, or upon your return to a country that could give a shit less about you for your professional efforts or your profession for that much.

What kind of profession is killing people for politicians and resources anyway?

So I say do what Armies used to do, go in and level and steal.

Wholley all those rifles are not US Military weapons and I find it hard to believe that Iraq would buy overpriced 7.62 from the US rather than buy bulk military surplus from the former Soviet Union, China or the Balkans. So I reserve the right to call bullshit on his story. An embargo for 10 years and a box of Federal ammo on ebay shows up saying "bid on this vintage box of US ammo from Iraq", horseshit.

But other than that how are you Wholley? Ready to take on these Redcoats and inject them with some revolutionary spirit or you too tired today?

So then, have we drifted off the subject heading here?
CONTACT - AFGHANISTAN
Let's stick to the subject. Why not start a new topic for pissing contests, nationalism and the finer points of the World's ammunition calibres?
This topic was looking like a useful way for the blokes to give gen sitreps from theatre but has turned into a rant.
As on the net, all radio traffic after "CONTACT" deals with that contact until it has passed. Let's keep this topic clear for the blokes on the ground to have their say - when they get the chance.

Greenronnie - you're doing a wicked job out there mate and say well done to the young man who risked his life to rescue those US soldiers wounded the other day out trying to "level and steal".

Stay safe geeza.
