Participants needed for research about trauma, shame, self-harm, and aggression

Post by KGDPsych »

Does a difficult childhood lead to future self-harm and harm to others, and if it does, how can we reduce this?

This online research is open to all adults and therefore whether you have had a difficult childhood or not, self harmed or not, or been aggressive or not. Literally any adult willing to participate can help to potentially shape future services for those need help. It will help to indicate what makes someone more vulnerable to self harming and/or aggressive behaviour (which may lead to custody) and highlight interventions to prevent this. It therefore will help to ensure children are supported in the way they need (particularly when from difficult backgrounds) and adult services support these individuals in the way they need too. As those that have served in the military can face mental health difficulties, heightened levels of aggression and self harm it is hoped the findings of this research may help indicate what support serving and non-serving military may need within various services.

Please help by completing this anonymous survey. It takes approximately 20-30 minutes. If you interested in taking part please click the link below and read the information provided before deciding if you are happy to participate. Your participation will help to answer this important question and hopefully find ways to support those that have experienced difficult childhoods, prevent self harm and harm to others. Please note that questions on aggression need to be focused on your general life and not active duty based behaviours.
