Royal marines

Post by Shaunpratt »

Hey, I was wandering if anyone knows if I can join the Royal Marines with an underactive thyroid? I have phoned up and they said if it's not on the medical requirments that's listed on the website and as long as I'm fit it should be fine, but I've also been told I can't join, and underactive thyroid isn't a serious condition and is well controlled. It doesn't stop me from doing anything physical as I go out running and go to the gym and also have a manual labour job.

While you are at home in the UK it is not a problem but in forces you can be hundreds of miles from medical help and this makes it problem for you and the forces. This is the reason that they look for people that are 100% fit and with out any other conditions. Still you can always ask to mind at rest.
