Dat to Day life.

Post by Greeninside »

Hi Guys, i'm looking to join the marines in a year or so time, as im waiting to finish my Engineering apprenticeship/getting fit for selection. I'm just wondering what day to day life is like in the RM. Ive looked over the web and couldn't find anything useful really. Basically what sort of things would you do in a average week when not out on exercise etc?
Cheers guys

Hi, I've been out for a wee while so things may have changed but basically your day would be roughly:-

08:30 Turn to and go for a run or to the gym.
10:00 back to your accom and stand easy.
11:00 lecture or brief about upcoming stuff.
12:30 lunch.
13:30 training of sorts (wpns, Map reading, lectures etc).
16:30 finish for the day.

Or you could be duty covering security, general camp duties.

Or you could be spending a few days on range packages.

Or Field training exercises with your Troop or Company prior to Unit / Bde exercises.

Whatever you do it will usually end up in a run ashore somewhere with a few lads from the troop or company.

Good luck
