#1 Post by flo » Wed 12 Jan, 2011 8:34 pm

Ok while i was an extremely active member on here, life has caused me to take a step back but i last logged on in feb and to see only 22 new topics on the general discussion board is shocking, we used to get that every day - where has everyone gone!!!

Looking back to the days of the Bunker and the Retreat, the time of there being 199 people on line!

Now perhaps a handful at any one time.

Perhaps this explains it.

I think alot of people have moved on, and are doing other things. And newbies like me have joined but don't have much to offer information wise that isn't already available to the public. Got my prmc soon so I should be in by april and then I can offer advice to other newcomers like myself. Ill certainly try my best to remain as active as possible on this forum during training =p

I'm still getting a fair few questions from people looking to join up as WSOps, and doing my bit for RAF recruitment (in a very secret way, obviously...)

Yes, Rover's post said it all I'm afraid...

http://www.militaryforums.co.uk/forums/ ... 22&t=38061

One particular Troll - who was banned - re-invented himself and re-entered as a new callsign
and caused more grief - and was again banned over and over until Mods were tired of sossing his IP address is the reason that I became T'd off. His digging up of old posts was mindless -
and his sniping at moderators was tripe.

But - on the whole the members here have been ok - they just became disenchanted with the bickering. I really DO still maintain a 'watch' on the Listeners Forum - because you just never know when a body needs a body - and bits of my body are still there and I will assist :)

We are, some of us, on the other side - but even there the said user pops up !

We lost touch with many, many, good, ordinary, extraordinary people who deserved better.

Fakebook is a good place now too - at least you can vet your friends - Sort of Vet Vetting.
And - you can ban and bin folk there too - effectively.....

There are not a few potential Royal Marines there - lads going into PRMC - and the old and bold give their support to them - which is good to see....

It's even open to Welsh folk and people of the Scot persuation - ( love 'em all)

I have my head patted a couple of times a day there and am privileged to be able to pat back now and then - nice at my (shave off) venerable age....

We need to reclaim this site and broadcast the fact - BUT (there's always a 'but' yes?)
the need for vetting and blocking will ALWAYS be there - and it is NOT a great job of work...
Moderators here make a fine contribution -

That's me done then - over to Fakebook for a while - and OAMAAM - then Skype -
then back here to read the gossip.....

Hope you come up with a plan Flo - take care...

He does get around, our Trog, even when he is off colour a bit.The pain in the arse that caused a lot of good people to leave, was a man of ex rank, who should have realised what he was doing to a good site, but is obviously a type who enjoys ruining the result other peoples hard work. The unfortunate fact is,that it will take some time to repair the damage, people have moved on.

:D

Owdun my mate !!!

You were in "lurk" mode all the time ..... :D

Glad that you too check in from time to time - great stuff - it means that there is at least
a nucleus of old (pardon) members that can pick up the pieces and contribute.

You are correct of course and he is often back 'over there' - not done anything up to now
on his latest binge - but eyes down lookin' - I think that he can only access here when he's home on leave, UK - The area of his chosen place of abode is restricted here on this Forum

Thank you for your kind message when I was Excused Boots over the turn of the year -
I'm on the mend but will stop this D.I.Y stuff and go to a real doctor in future - renewing a prescription from the cancer hospital last year works on one part of the problem if I choose correctly - but not all aspects :) ...

Hope you are well and coping with winter.... best 'aye,

Well this feels strange...... Last time i made a post was 2007 :o
I have been on since though, mainly just to see whats going on. I dont know if anyone still remembers me, i use to be wato212.
Good to see some old faces. Was on here last night and counldn't help but feeling kind of sad. I remember first coming on here, i was on every night without fail, looking for that dream phys session that would make me pass out lol. I loved everything about it. And to make it even more sad i went back, and found my post when i passed out, it was very strange looking back. I'm outside now doing maritime security. Its still good as all the lads are bootnecks but still miss the corp.

Anyway, just came on here to put my 2p in, for what its worth, and to thank everyone mainly the old and bold even if they dont come on here anymore for all there help, even when i was asking bone questions.

Thanks everyone....
