Hello all, I'm hoping one of you lovely people can help me
I'm a 3rd year BA Student at Wolves Uni, mostly specialising in Photography. I was recently given the opportunity to go and explore the now derelict Anzio Camp up in Leek, Staffs. I documented a lot of the camp and while I was there was pleasantly surprised to discover the signatures of 2 members of 40 commando's written inside one of the lockers.
The project I chose to use the photos for is a brief entitled "Evidence of Human Activity" so to find the signatures was a dream. I decided that as part of the project I would love to be able to trace the "evidence" the signature back to the Marine who wrote it, so I'm here today looking for 2 Marines who would have been at the camp back in 1990.
The first signature is:
LCPL Holmes, 7/4/1990, 40 Commando's Mt. Harriet, Falkland Islands. 14/5/82
The second:
SGT Morgan, 10/4/1990 40 Commando's
Both were written with what looks like the same pen.
If these names mean something to you, or if you have your own memories of Anzio camp I would dearly love to hear them! I am currently uploading some images of the camp as it is now to my Flickr account and I'll add a link to it in a little while.
Many thanks for your time
Jane
