I had a quick look using google and they're surprisingly difficult to find actually. However, if you can get hold of a Soldier magazine there's usually plenty of adds in there selling Regimental T-shirts etc... so they may sell flags too.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help!

Just occurred to me it's odd the Globe and Buster doesn't carry ads for these sorts of things. Maybe because serving booties can get them from the shop at Lympstone???
The Museum shop doesn't carry a huge selection of stuff, either.

Davo, I take it your out in Afghan at the mo and will be over Christmas?

The Morrisons I work is sending out a parcel to troops in Afghan, I'm going to put stuff in, what would be most useful? I was thinking some razors?

Cheers,

David.

PM Inbound English Rose!
Just on my last few days of R&R! Pull the short straw on that one after less than 2 months in theatre! a nice break though!!

As for the parcels, anything is welcommed to be honest! Lads have been receiving a few from Support our Soldiers etc, things we found best where magazines of different genres just to have a read, sweets and yes; toiletries and moisturiser!

How you working it with the MOD's new policy of having to have a name on the parcels?

I don't know to be honest, there's a box in the canteen and you just put everything in there. I guess they'll sort that out later!

Thanks for the help. But beware on the magazines front, Morrisons doesn't do porno!

Good my end Dave, had some interesting jobs along with plenty of the usual hurry-up-and-wait boredom. Our first bloke's just away on his R&R now, honking...that said, it's barely worth coming back from mine, I'll only have 4 weeks to push after it!

Bring your warmers back mate, it's been sub-zero a coupla nights now, days are down to 15 odd...I was still sunbathing up til a week ago, bloody desert  Apparently it's a freak cold spell, it doesn't usually come for another few weeks...so long as the obvious doesn't come early as well :o

Hope you've had a good leave mate, now get yer arse back to work

PM received, shall do my bestest! Even though you've gone back now and probably won't get this!

I was wondering about the named soldier thing, too. Hubs said he got one the other day addressed to 'A soldier in such and such'

Dave, re parcels; Moisturiser is a massive thing apparently. My husband is eating his weight in Haribo. Some Christmasey things might be nice as well. Hubs wants me to track down his little Christmas tree but it's in the cellar and I'm scared

If someone is prepared to divvy out the parcels, you can use one name to send them all to - that's what we did when my mate's hubby was out in Afghan.
You can have peace.
Or you can have freedom.
Don't ever count on having both at once.
