Life in the SAS?

Post by Richard »

I have a friend who has served 3 years in the paras and i no someone who has done the same..
They both want to apply for the SAS but i think they are just looking at the glamorous side. I have been told your social life goes downhill because you are allways away, mostly out of the country.
How much time do you think they would get off?

Another question i have allways wanted to no..
I no that the government spend around £80,000 to train a Royal Marine.
How much would they have to spend to train up someone in the SAS/SBS?

Thx, Rick

I think the only people who will know the answer are people who have served with 22nd Special Air Service Regiment. Secretive unit.

Does it really matter? He said once they invest all that time, attention and money into you, you wont have alot of social time, and if you did most of the stuff you talk about, you cant...

Who cares if your social life goes downhill, your true friends are the ones in the Regiment with you, what more do you need?
