Mental health

Post by Amyyeprobert »

Hi,
I've had a history with depression and also anxiety. When I was younger I did self harm, but it's all on my medical history. Is there a chance that I would be able to apply for an MoD job without my application being rejected on my medical past?
I am 19 now but it's been on my record since I was about 13. I have never been sectioned but I have been put on medication in the past (no longer on), and also referred to various councilers.
This is something I've been wanting to do for such a long time, I'm just hoping my actions from when I was a kid won't stop me going for my dream job.

Thanks in advance.

I imagine you could apply for a Civil Service job within the MoD, but you would not be accepted as a Serving member of the Military with your history I'm afraid. It's to protect you as much as anything else.
You can have peace.
Or you can have freedom.
Don't ever count on having both at once.
