CONTROVERSY AT BIGGIN HILL ON BBC TV NEWS

Post by Robert Badger »

Hello,
Some of you may have seen an item on the BBC TV News concerning the London Borough of Bromley's plan to demolish part of the Biggin Hill St George's RAF Chapel of Remembrance to build in its place an ugly square building which will become the long awaited Battle of Britain Museum. The plans for a mini 'Duxford' type building that would take large artifacts has been pushed aside, even though it would have been probably cheaper. The planned 'box' it seems will only accommodate photos, video displays and small items. The Vestry is to be sacrificed is a handsome 'Craftsmans' built brick building elegantly housing the Air Crew Association stained glass window.

To view the BBC TV report please click on the following link to the Downe Village website, where it is the first item you scroll down to: http://www.downe-kent.org.uk

Hopefully once you have viewed this report you will sign the PETITION to persuade Bromley Council to think again, 11,000 have already done so. Just Google Protect Biggin Hill RAF Chapel or click below:

Please share by Facebook etc. Thank you. Bob
