Wait to join my preferred trade or settle for second best?

Interested in Intelligence Officer but understand they aren't recruiting at the moment. Do i wait until they are or get stuck into a career in the RAF as an Aerospace Battle Manager? Cheeers

Its just that if its going to possibly take years for int officer to become open, is it possible to become an aerospace battle manager and then switch roles? if so how long is it till you can? thanks

I can tell you they only took two new IntO's last year, and they both came from within the Int Branch. I'm looking at commissioning as a possible career move and that would be where I'd go too, but hopefully already being Int and having the appropriate security clearances will give me a head start.
I don't know how long you'd have to stay as an ABM before switching, but it would be at least three years I'd imagine.
