Random Quesions RE: Paras/7RHA

Post by copymenu »

1. Is the 26 week CIC course harder for Paras? (Not including P-Company obviously)
2. Can a person join The Regiment if they wear glasses?
3. Do Potential recruits do all their selection at the same ATC's as the rest of the army-so the interviews, 'BARB' test and 'Icebreaker'? Or do Parachute Regiment applicants undergo a more specific selection?
4. When it comes to applying for Airborne Artillery do you mention that at your selection center or do you find out after you have completed your training?

Cheers

I wish people would stop commenting on things they do not have a clue about
Things you feel like doing after being hit in the liver :
-Vomitting
-Suffocating
-Shitting yourself
-Passing out
-Crying for your mummy
-Stop taking part in any kind of violent sport.......

Now removed, my apologies, I was under the impression that was the way it went. Once again apologies.

I'm sure there are plenty of people in the army that wear glasses/contacts.

Fair enough. Just wanted to ask people that actually know what they're talking about. I'm just a wee bit confused about it, that's all. Some posts on this site suggest that a slightly lazy eye may stop you from joining the army. But I'm sure it said on a form I had that I should bring the glasses and the opticians prescription with me when I go to ADSC for the medical. Plus I definitely saw a soldier in afghanistan on a TV program wearing them and he was from 45. Commando but can Paras wear glasses or contact lenses? :-? I wish people wouldn't make comments if they don't know what they're talking about, how am I supposed to know the chocolate from the bullsh*t?

Yes you can, so long as you meet the standard. (if you do a search on here there are posts which even state what that entry standard is)

Wearing glasses/contacts wont stop you serving in the Paras that's a fact.

you CAN wear contact lenses, unless it has all changed now. I know that soft lense disposables are acceptable but hard gas rigids are frowned upon.
