Would have to be at the end wouldn't it,
I suppose no point in making a challenge easy,
bit of a contradiction.

Thinking about doing it Para_Hopeful?,
boots and bergen,
or trainers?

Does anyone know how many women have completed this race in the past (the P Company one with bergen.)
& what their times were ?
( Been on the race website but results page is blank. )

Is this only once a year?

Anyone who is serious about joining the Paras ought to do this race. It's a good indication of how fit you are and will give an insight on P Coy itself without actually having to join up (although it's only the 10 miler that one gets to do).

Ria - you should do a doc on this race alone - a stab at the 10 miler would give a good indication of whether you could do P Coy.

Funny you should say that.
The MoD emailed me today suggesting just that,
giving permission for a TV production company to
come to Catterick to film me doing the race.

I'm def doing the race, but wouldn't have a hope of
getting a docu made.
No TV company would be interested in a non-celebrity
doing this, plus it's only 11 weeks away, so no time to get it
commissioned.

Have you any idea how incredibly difficult it is to get anything
commissioned? It's a total nightmare.

Yes I do. I'm a TV cameraman and no I don't want to film it.

Wouldn't want you anywhere near my docu, you little twerp.

So, Boxingmad, will we be seeing you on the "Paras 10" ???

You've had a lot to say for yourself, ( on another thread ) so
are we going to see you in action any time, or are you all talk??

For someone who came on this forum looking for help,
you can be very hostile to people.

I would recomend adjusting your attitude before attempting anything
of this nature wher at points you may need all the support you can get
from those around you.

That post wasn't for you, so I'd suggest you mind your own business.
Boxingmad has left some aggressive & quite spiteful remarks about me
on another thread, ( Docu on woman joining paras ) especially on June 14,
so I'll be as arsy as I like to him thanks.

I've had 3 weeks of abuse off people on here, & I don't intend
to sit back & take any more without a fight.

So if you've got something useful to say about this race, then let's
hear it, if not, butt out. No-one was being hostile to you.

Ria, actually I did say on a previous post that I would probably wish you good luck. I'm honest enough within myself to know that I'd probably struggle on the Paras 10, otherwise I'd have got through the TA P Coy course when I was in. I'm at ease with myself personally - I'm not cut out to be a para, and I certainly wouldn't begrudge a female having a go but you seem obsessed with trying to prove you can be "one of the boys".
It's pretty clear that you are doing this for self-promotion otherwise a) you would have found another woman to do it or b)you would have done a doc on a male soldier going for it or do one on the training in general.

Why didn't you ask Pip Tattersall if she wanted to try P Coy? She is a serving soldier and having passed the Commando Course, it would have been a great feature to see if she could have passed the other elite selection course in the mainstream British forces (SAS Selection is SF so is a different area) and as she's serving still (I think) the process would have been a lot easier to arrange.

I looked at what i said on June 14 and there was nothing nasty there - if you can't take what I said there then how u gonna fare up there in Catterick when they are yelling all manner of things to you? You've come on here and just baited people. All they did was disagree with your idea - no one has actually been really rude to you, including me - they just voiced their opnions. Picking on people like Alfa was not on - he got a medical discharge and was doing fine on CIC(Para) until he was injured. He can't probably ever go for it again, so for someone who isn't serving to come on here and give him a hard time is just bang out of order.

Unfortunately for you I have some good contacts in the MOD press office as I've worked with them on some news items I've filmed. I'm sorely tempted to call them and suggest to them that you do not get access or permission for your idea as you've been extremely unpleasant of late. You started off well on this forum as you took what was thrown at you with cheerfulness and humour but as you continued not to get the responses you wanted you changed considerably. You wanted opinions and you got them, so you should just accept it. If you went to ARRSE you would have been ripped to shreds, they are serving soldiers and don't take to media requests very well.

Ria, this twerp thanks you for your kind words.

The info for the event states that the weight of the bergen needs to be 35lb.

Any suggestions as to what to use to make up this weight please.

Go for it.
Call who you like.
Direct them to the other thread if you want,
I've got nothing to hide.
You are getting very very boring, continually bringing
up points that I've covered over & over again on
another thread......yawn......
( Thanks for biting though..........!! )

General Question Re. Paras 10.

Anyone got any advice on boots ??
Amongst my sexy collection of slingbacks & kitten heels,
I alas, don't own a pair of military type boots.
Shall I just go down to Army & Navy, try some on,
& ask their advice??
Don't want to spend that much, & don't want anything
too heavy & clumpy. ( If there is such a thing as lightweight
military boots ??? )

Lets play nicely boys and girls.
Bet you wou would be sexy in a pair of camo sling-backs Ria.
If this is going to degenerate into a slanging match then the force will intervene.
The force of course being me.
I'll take the ball and go home. 8)

Wholley, where've you been?
There's been a slanging match going on for three weeks
on another thread.
But we are all ok, & are just sticking up for ourselves
& our opinions.

I promise to play nicely, as I'm a very good girl.

Sometimes the big boys are mean to me &
make me cry, but my dad's bigger than their dads,
& he's going to come round & sort all the bad boys out......

Damn right I'd look sexy in camo slingbacks,
not really recommended for the Paras 10 though.....
