Are women actually allowed in the paras, or is it just the case of none having passed selection? I may be wrong but I have never heard of a female para
Cheers big ears

Women are not allowed to join the Parachute Regiment (Infantry)
However, if they come from units such as RLC, RE and REME etc then they are allowed to do P-Coy to earn their maroon beret.
I hope that helps mate.

Well in selection / application process, potential ruperts don't do the BARB test, because they are already deemed smart enough in most cases.
But they are usually sent to the AOSB (Army Officer Selection Board) which is three days, where as soldiers are sent to ADSC (Army Development and Selection Centre) which is two days.
But for actual Officer training, you will complete a 11-month course at Sandhurst; where as soldiers all the there initial phase 1 training for 12 weeks, then go onto phase two where they do training specific to their job!
