P Company - Female Successes

Post by Boxingmad »

Has a female ever passed P Company? I heard once that a woman passed the RM Commando course. Has it happened in the Paras?

I heard the woman didnt actually pass. Apparently she failed the first time and second time but passed her just so he wouldnt hassle them again. Its what i heard anyway.

Perhaps no female has yet to pass todays P Company.

But I would like to point out that a number of Ladys have jumped 'operationaly', some more than once.

DOH! Do a chuffing search you lot.

Calm down Lar, they're worse than Scousers, ennnay!

Capt Pip Tattersall passed her All Arms Commando Course, at the third attempt. She failed the second course due to poor fieldcraft. She is VERY fit, works hard at maintaining her fitness, unlike most people. She was supposed to work with the Commando Logistics regt after her course, but for some reason went back to the Army, somewhere near Catterick or Otterburn.
Having achieved the standard required she was awarded her green beret. No probs from me, if she was going to a Commando unit then I'd be asking why. As it is she would only be in the rear echelons.
Next question undoubtedly is Why? Well, why not?

I remember seeing the 9 O'clock news when she passed the AACC, the little title bar introducing the story stated 'Captain Pip Tattersall - Royal Marines Commando'

I wonder if anyone ever corrected the BBC ?

No she passed the AACC, an 8 week course ending with the commando tests. Women aren't allowed into the RM.
