Ive just passed out on the 18th Dec and was wondering can i buy new boots (i.e Lowas) before i get to my unit. Im asking because im going to be at Leconfield for 8weeks then go to a unit however do troops/sections have SOPs on these things? Will still being a sprog make any differance as well.

Boots, so long as they're black, you're fine. Lotta lads like Magnums or even the Nike/Adidas lightweight ones for knocking about camp, Lowas are the popular choice for proper use. Hanwag do good ones, personally I like Scarpas but they don't do black, so you have to get dark green ones and dye them (and obviously don't wear them for Monday morning parade!). Speak to Lympstone UIF, they seem to get them cheaper than anyone else.
