Rejected from the army!

Post by jah-boy »

Hi i'm, josh

I recently got a letter telling me I couldn't join the army yet because i have braces, does anyone know what the marines policy is on braces and dental plans?

I'm 16 and i'm pretty fit, my 1.5 mile run time in 9 mins 30 secs does anyone know the fitness requirements as well?

Mate , joining the corp isn't something you just decide to do because the army won't accept you due to braces. Your heart needs to be in it , and i can see your only 16 ...you have plenty of time to wait it out and get fitter. Just be patient , take your time and go for what you really want , not something that is just available at the time.

I'll second that and I quoted it for truth.
Braces will pass in time and I'm sure you won't regret having them. Who does?? Have a good think to yourself and take time to consider your options ok.
Either way, you may suprise yourself.
No matter what you apply for though, your heart has to be in it.

I wish you all the best for the future. Mfat will still be here if or when you decide to crack on.

When do you get your braces removed? - they won't be there forever and when they are off you will be fine, and hopefully fit enough to jump straight back in.

if you really want to be a bootneck you'd step into that recuiting office and rip them off right in front of the afco, that'll make you a shoe in

Just rang my orthodontist and i'll have my braces out by june 09. I might as well just wait for them to come out since army was my plan.

I know i may sound naiive here but how different is the marines to the navy?

just check out the marine website, and compare notes, you'll see the difference, you'll hear different arguements from everyone about whos the best and all that crap...but your head has to be in the right place to go for it, so its your choice mate.

Get a job, get some life experience, you'll be a better soldier for it!
Use the time wisely, and it'll go down well with the recruiters.
You can have peace.
Or you can have freedom.
Don't ever count on having both at once.
