PRMC 3 miler, how is it done?

Post by ironrob64 »

Hi all
I have my PRMC in less than a week. Seeing as the 3 mile run is the first and most important part i am curious to how its done.
I know the first half is run in roughly 12 minutes and the second half is as fast as possible, but once the first half is run do you then turn around and go back the other way or is it a circuit? Also once the troop half has been conducted do they stop you briefly to line you up an set you off for the second half or is it this is the half way mark boys RUN!.. ?

Thanks in advance. Rob.

It's a run straight back mate, same route. From what I gather from other individuals the Corporals seem to line you up, give you a quick talking too about never giving up, and to push yourself to the end, then your off to the races.

Our DS (directing staff) held us in suspense on the secret of passing the firemans carry at the end of training and I think the principle is the same. Are you ready?

Wait for it...

Start fast....

.......and keep going

Good luck with the PRMC Rob. There are some good PRMC diaries in the 'articles' section below with some top advice but the most important thing is just do what you're told when you're told and remember there are two speeds at CTC - stop and full tilt 100% effort.

Nothing like asking for it is there?
I was going to offer you a ride up to #6 on the weekend of 29th,
but I now realise you'll be dead by then.

Is that before or after he has his 'demonstration'?
In all seriousness, good luck on your PRMC's all. 8)

Bring Dosh enough for a meal for two and a few wets you tight arsed sod.

I've got the tent sorted out so you should have no problems kipping save for Max the Mutt who tends to have a ballistic attitude towards blow up mattresses.
