The royal marines from my local careers office was having a fitness test at my local park while i was on my run this morning at the forest park nottingham, so i volunteer to join in, met an amazingly fit guy compare to me who did it in 8mins 15, could you tell me how to improve my run time? helps and tips are very welcome

I found 'Fartlec' training was quite good for me as it gives your legs amazing power and improves cardio. Its also known as interval training. It involves intervals of jogging and sprinting. Ie, get a football pitch do ten laps of jogging the long and sprinting the short then do another ten of sprinting the long and jogging the short. That will leave you knackerd. 8)
