now if it was the same format for USMC or other, what are the odds of the number being left out for respectful reasons? anybody think they'll think of that here?? www

Yes there was a 666 tp - Known as the Devil troop!!
Tshirt was really funny

Troops are numbered all the way to 999 and then they start again
(or so I'm told - cause I wasn't around when it happened last!!!)

The Band Service number their troops differently. I was in 379 troop, which was the 3rd troop of 1979. Done this was you only start renumbering every 100 years :o It has the advantage that if you quote your troop number the person you are talking to knows exactly when you joined up and when you were in training.

Hello guys, so ill be in 911 troop then, strange for it to coincide with a date as significant and sep 11. I doubt they will leave the "911" out for respectful reasons, saying that i dont know if they have ever missed any numbers out for any reason. And at what stage do we get the troop T-shirts, or is that somthing the lads do?

Tshirts are done by the lads and the team - usually after you have been in for a few weeks. They are not official but if they are green and done in good taste they are sometimes allowed as a PT rig etc
