Afternoon everyone,

I,ve been reading topics on this site for a while now so i thought i,d just say hello. Im hoping to re-join sometime next year, having left at week 8 in 2003. Good to see that lots of people are passing PRMC and getting down to CTC for mainstream training. The advice from the "old and bold" on this site is great, some great advice and support on the site, glad ive found it, didnt know about it before.

Are there any other ex-recruits on the site thinking of going back for an other crack?
Personally i cant wait to give it an other go.

Cheers,

Hey mate, i was also in training in 2003, ive completed all the steps and am currently waiting till the 21st of Nov to start RT. I had my joining brief the other day and had a few beers with others im joining with, and the old fellas (AFCO) staff came along aswell, 3-4 hours later wasnt a pretty site  . I sold my car today aswell so a bit down about it but she had to go funny it was an Astra GSI Turbo, and i am a member of a car forum so less of it . Anyway i cant wait to go back down there and start even if i have no opt out rights now im 100% sure its for me now. Good luck if you do go back chap.

Gavin,

November 21st hey? nice cold nights for wet and dry, ha ha.Yeah im not bothered about the opt out rights, because as you say the time since leaving really has shown me i wanted to be there more than i thought. What troop were you in by the way?, i joined 28th july, 859 troop.
Not to worry about the car, you can run everywhere now instead, you will be again soon anyway.

Hope it all goes well mate.

I feel 2 years working in a normal job bored the hell out of me and i hated it always thinking back to what could have been if i would have stuck it out, but hay ho 5 weeks and ill have my chance.

Im exactly the same mate, i left and went to uni.Dont think there has been a day gone by when i haven,t thought, should i have done that? Anyway i keep thinking what if, and quite simply i dont want to be thinking that for ever. I know for sure now that i have to have an other crack at it, and stick it out till the end. I honestly cant see me forgiving myself if i didnt. Good luck in november mate, let us know how you get on.

I dont know if they have changed again fellas but they were operating a system for rejoins wher by they would access you see what level you were at and then slot you back into a week that matched your level of knowledge and fitness.

However having said that, i am Marvin the Memory Man, It may have been only applicable to recruits that had passed a certain week say "15" or indivaduals that had left Perce (Army) to join the Marines. In which case i would be wrong and appologise in advance and will wind my neck in.

There was a letter sent out by CTCRM a while ago to ex-recruits asking if they were considering re-joining.Those who had passed baptist run were able to be fast tracked to phase two, but i think they had to re-do certain elements before hand to show they had retained the nessasary knowledge. Those who had not reached and passed baptist run would begin again at week one. Things may have changed since, like i said this was a while back.Obviously the AFCO will have the information.
Will be week one for me either way.

hey fodd!,

When are you thinking of getting the process going again? i,m probably going to go into the AFCO around feb, march time next year, as i dont finish my degree untill june. I know what you mean about boring, being at uni has driven me mad at times, quickly sorted with some runs in the park or up in the hills though. There doesnt seem to be too much different about the application process other than the pre-prmc thingy on the tread mill, i didnt do that last time.

cheers mate
