yes i know - why not post in the parachute regiment forum.
i was browsing the army website earlier today and came across an interesting idea - the parachute regiment insight course, i was thinking this may be a good way to test your fitness prior to prmc as well as gaining an insight into military life/training and the para's (if any RM hopefulls were ever considering paras)
does anyone know anything about the course ? the website doesn't give too much away(i'll call the number tomorrow).
it's a shame the royal marines don't run a similar course.

I had my warrants ready to go down last year but I got badly injured and just about recovered now. I`m going to take the RM acquaint and the Para insight. I`ll make a huge assumation and presume that RSC for Paras isn't too far away from PRMC. Its RM or nothing for me and by attempting this insight I`m not losing my allegiance, its just common sense to pit yourself against something extremely demanding and learn from it - that will hopefully give me a better look at what is expected of me in PRMC. Anyway, it`ll be a nice little day out and a good experience.

Also as you say, its as good way to test fitness. I just wouldn't say anything about the marines whilst there. ;)

Yes - have a search mate. Theres a few posts that cover all areas of what is conducted on it. Or maybe someone could post their experiences of it on this thread... :)

Firstly RSC at Pirbright you don't need to do the bottomfield  . You don't need to do the 3 miler  you don't need to do Gyms test 2! Thats why in Para, pass rate is 65% need apply failiure. For marines it's 99.99% need not apply. RSC is basically shite tests and they are easy, such as carrying 2 full jerry cans for a distance under grasp chin ups. easy stuff, on top of that most of the Army is full of dickheads who will give you a dirty look if they don't like the way you look.

This based on your extensive experience of doing RSC, PRMC, P-Coy, AACC (and other acronyms), and of course your long years of service in the Forces, eh Felias?

Feely Ass!
I gave you the benefit of the doubt during your early posts however, it's now evident that you are a complete Twonk! Please stop posting complete Shazbat! You have no experience of HM Forces other than being a Cadet! This does not qualify you to make the type of comments you have been posting. Your inferred familiarity with the A2 was laughable! The Army may have its share of dickheads but then so does the Navy, RM and RAF but I think you'll find there are more dickheads in civvy street than there are in the forces! At the minute it would appear that you fall into the category of "civvy dickhead"!

My point exactly. It is obvious that the Army is less challenging than the RM.

I don't know shite about the a2 rifle apart from improvements over the mags, because I got one off a mate. Just saddening that it took like 15 yrs to fix. But I have a good knowledge of other weapons systems. I love guns. :D

Have you ever been shot at? No? right then fark off!

Getting a mag of a mate is 1) Sad and 2) hardly experience enough to comment against people who have been there and done it, as what H_N has!

Suggest you have a long think before your next post or it could be your last!

just another mouthy twat from the current crop of teenagers

if you think general fitness and entry test are be all and end all of being any soldier let alone a marine youve got a harsh dose of reality coming

hold on to your horses a second mate
this is just one jippy c@#t of a teenager. doesnt mean we are all like this. most of the young lads on here want to learn from the experience of men who have been there and done that, me included, so i think some of us are actually willing to shut up and listen. this a rotten egg in the basket whose best part ran down his mommas leg and ended up as a brown stain on the carpet  gotta love gunnery sergeant hartman!!
