Try spelling parachute right :o

You dont do jumps at CTC unless you get to Exmouth and the RM School of Dancing.

Recce, BPT, SC, are a few specializations that spring to mind that require parachute training.

General question to the old sweats, is the RN/RMSPA still going or is it now defunct?

I dont think you have a clue full stop judging by some of your other posts.

Recce is recconisance

BPT is Brigade Patrol Troop (brigade level recce)

SC is swimmer canoeist (SBS)

How are you choosen to be a sniper in RM.. Are you selected or can u sign up for it? Can you be a normal royal marine soldier and be selected?

Could snipering be good enought specialistion to get you into the SAS?

Sniper training from what I have read and been told is something you express and interest in to your OC. If you are a marksman on things like you APWT etc then you are more likely to get picked for it.

Matrix, I think you should learn to walk before you try and run. Get some base knowledge about the things your asking by doing some research and getting the history. There is lots of cheap books out there, and also a great deal of information on the Internet and particularly on this forum. Then you might see why people might get angry at you asking questions that in their eyes are silly.

I would also recommend you take some time to invest in a spell checker. :)

Buy 'The Making of a Royal Marines Commando' by Nigel Foster. A bit outdated but it will help you understand some of the specialisations and what it takes to complete them.
