opportunities in the navy?

Post by Martin9 »

Is there opportunities in the RN for getting GCSE's like there is in the RAF?

Im interested in aircraft but have no qualifications, i was wanting to work with aircraft in some way, i cant do any technical trade with no qualifications in the RAF but on the RN website: "No qualifications - Air Engineering Technician" and "No qualifications - Naval Airman (Aircraft Handler"

To me, that seems a better choice than painting aircraft in the RAF.

Id like to do a job involved with aircraft and gain some qualifications (GCSE's) whilst serving.

The RAF has "learning center" type things doesnt it... does the RN have something like this?

Fly Navy, ffs :o
You will enjoy life far more in the Royal Navy with a far greater choice of career, greater sports opportunities, better pay and a fantastic way to see the world :P
What more can I tell you about the wonderfull Senior Service and what an absolutely top bunch of blokes they are and a better bunch of Oppos you`ll never find anywhere on God`s green earth.
Well, honestly, if I had my time over again it`d be the Royal Naval Air Service for me, once they get going again obviously

Doc, can you stop pointing that at me now please and OHSSM can you take the cattle prod out of my bottom? I`ve said what`s on the note,

Roger that cattle prod secured.
Martin I'm not sure about this one I would imagine that with determination and a good Divisional Officer it would be possible.

yes you can do your GCSE's again...the time you do it must co-inside with the schools doing them for obvious reasons.

Get through training and the navy will let you do shit loads...just gotta push for it.

You can do GCSE, A Level, Degree distance learning and the worst thing is... It is almost free! It is all about investing in people. You get a grant to cover 75% of the costs and the the rest you pay for. There is an upper limit but if the course is job related they will pay it all.
