Are those the Scottish Regiments that colluded with loyalist deathsquads in the murder of innocent catholics in Northern Ireland?

Probably, and they are the same Scotish regiments that carried the the hieghts of abraham, relieved Lucknow, were the original thin red line, charged at Waterloo, carried the Russian positions at the Alma, and lost hundreds of thousands of men in two world wars.
The politicians have no concept of the affections and loyalties that regiments create in people. Hoon and Blair should be made to read the roles of honour of every regiment they want to destroy then write personal letters to the families of the fallen telling them why they want to destroy that families living link with their forbears.

These are the same Regiments that fought the world over to provide us with the inheritance we are trying to maintain. They fought alongside Royal Marines, and occasionally against Royal Marines in the NAAFI.
After a Ghurka, the Jocks are the next people I would want standing beside me.
Petition signed, Jan.

Whats going on today! DelD, you obviously have proof of this do you? With your incredibly ill chosen slur, you have just attempted to damage the reputation of some fine Regiments with proud histories. As El Prez say, the Jocks have fought against every tyranny the world has seen (including some from England). For you to make a crass statement like that is simply beyond belief.

Hi Jan :D

I've tried to sign the petition three times now, off here and on our own message board. For some unknown, it won't let me. Is anyone else having that problem? I don't appear to be doing anything wrong :-?
I shall keep trying

I have many friends who are Irish and thankfully none are as insulting as you DelD. I asked you to take a look, all you had to say was no!

I may live in the USA now, but my Country will always be Scotland First!

I point out to DelD, the ones into Battle First are the Marines and the Sottish Regiments.

The Skirl Of The Scottish Bagpipes sent many an enemy running for cover, the enemy knew who was following behind those pipers.

Men with the courage of lions, if BuffHoon is allowed to carry out his Reaper sweep, we shall never see the Sottish Regiments again.

Once they are gone they are gone for ever.

Insult if you must, ridicule if it suits, but never ever doubt the honour that these Regiments won over the years. With Courage and LoyaltyThey have Fought For those who needed them in times of trouble.
