Snow!!

Post by daz89 »

Just wondering how you all get around training when the weathers like this? We have about 6 inches of snow up here.. took me half an hour to drive 2 miles to work tonight! I had plans of going for a sprint session tomorrow morning before I went to bed but looks like Im going to have to go to the gym! I prefer running outside for obvious reasons but is there anything I can do on a treadmill that will 'replicate' a sprint session.. Or anything along those lines! I really don’t fancy whacking the treadmill up to full speed on and off fur 10 mins (especially after a nightshift, I’ll end up on my arse!)...

I usually do a 18 min interval on them but still don’t feel that it’s doing much good.

Anyway what do you all get up to training wise when the weathers like this!!

If you are worried about falling get a pair of golf shoes with the spikes in them.

Are the wearing of socks over your shoes out of fashion now?
You always stuck to the ice and my hoard of olive combat socks are just sitting in the wardrobe!

Where's everyone's snow pics? :)

:drinking:

What you girls need is a good set of traction devices ....

I've sent some over for an oppo who has just completed the Gumpathon...

Go in and take a shufty at gumpathon.com

The UK has the following supplier of traction stuff for little old ladies ....

http://www.yaktrax.co.uk/stockists

Get out and USE it ffs.....

It says on the box that one can run in 'em - I tried - you can ....

Nico, all that wet stuff has to turn into something when the minus zero temperature from Siberia hits us!
