Re: Retreat

Post by Admin »

As a temporary measure the Retreat has been removed.
With the New Year approaching, we feel that everyone must have trust in each other and work together.
Please at anytime let me know your thoughts.
We appreciate your help in this matter.

Basically so that everything is said in the open, and there can be no accusations of people being talked about behind their backs, as it were.
You can have peace.
Or you can have freedom.
Don't ever count on having both at once.

Admin,
Thanks for the effort. Much appreciated
Please at anytime let me know your thoughts.
Very simple, here we go:

Mods should moderate.

They should uphold and enforce the Terms of Agreement with parity and transparency.

Mods should not 'stick together' out of some form of misplaced loyalty.

Bullying, lying, hypocrisy and cowardice by anyone should not be tolerated.

Everyone is treated fairly and with courtesy, irrespective of rank, cap badge, time served or length of membership here.

In fact if UK's politicians did the same..........................Nah that would never happen!

Mods do moderate and personally i think they carry out a bleedin' good job.
Remember its all done in their own free time, not for fun!
Over the past year the mods have taken a serious amount of flak and abuse as certain members rock the ship!

If some members don't like authority for the best, then why stick around?
Plenty of other flyby forums to register on.
These forums hold a goldmine of information for anyone that requires an insight in the the Armed Forces along with great experiences from the bold.

As far as im concerned the Terms & Conditions are there to protect everyone.
And its everyone that agreed to them upon registration to use the service.
If no one likes it or enjoys it, theres always the Remove Account Request.

Now wheres my drink...

Iv no posted in a while, but still been reading the posts (and a lot eh pointless ones anaw).. Just wanted to say that in my opinion the mods/admins are doing a great job.. obvisouly everybodys got their own opinions and av probably missed a few hings oot but a site like this is an actual goldmine to anybody wanting to join or serving.

Ive got a lot more to say in ma head and im sure a lot of members have to..

Anyway.. everybody have a good new year. Im sure the site will go back to how it used to be:)

The PMs in my inbox indicate a different opinion.

The behaviour, language and activities of some of the mods is disgraceful.
They have taken 'flak' because of it, not because anyone wants to 'rock the boat'. If there are examples of abuse then all those responsible should have been dealt with.

I think most of us who have been around here a while, fully appreciate that there has to be some form of authority in place, but not 'little Hitlers'.

I stick around because I have been a member from when this site was joined with OAMAAM. Old habits etc. Many others from that era have gone or rarely post anymore.

These Forums do hold an mine of information and advice for potential recruits into HM Armed Forces. It's a shame that when a new member asks what is perceived as a 'bone' question he/she is abused. A moderator told me recently that he/she gets cheesed of with trying to answer the same old stupid, bone questions. He/she was scathing that new members can't/won't/don't use the search facility.
There are no bone questions, only ignorant answers.

The Terms of Agreement! One of my pet subjects!
We all agreed, upon registration, to abide by them. Then why aren't they upheld and enforced by those appointed to do so? The answer is simple. Those that are in that position are, by far, the worst offenders.

Lying, bullying and hypocrisy are the reasons for any decline in these forums.

That some of those who are supposed to uphold the ToA, stay silent or take no action (out of misplaced loyalty) is shameful and cowardly.

That said.

Happy New Year.

I provided my thoughts as invited. Problem?

There is no bait, only the truth. A concept alien to you.
Try and make some form of worthwhile contribution.
Do the right thing. Demonstrate some moral courage and integrity.

Go on, I dare you.

Ho, ho, ho!

Guys this is all getting way out of hand.
I keep quiet most of the time and try to keep a low profile, but I read pretty much everything posted on here.
It's a really good resource and I think most of us use it for what it is, but some people are taking it way too seriously.

I joined this forum to learn about Military Fitness and Training, and I have really benefitted from it.
But it is turning into a soap opera and slagging match, and I don't enjoy it much any more for that reason.

It's great to socialise online with people with similar interests, but honestly.... GET A LIFE!
You don't have to reply to every post you don't agree with!
Are you going to trawl the entire internet for opinions/persons/groups that have a different opinion to you, and argue with them all?

Maybe I should just keep quiet and continue to use the forum for the info and occasional bit of chat.
But the ratio of info:horsesh*t is seriously tipping toward the latter, making that more effort than it should be.

What would you know about the above?
As Rob Parry has said elsewhere if you have a personal problem with another member keep it to yourselves,ie via PM.
I'm still waiting for the messages Ria sent you after she was binned.I suppose they got lost along with the rest of your inbox.

Exactly.
This place is getting very, very stupid these days. Which is why I only read on here now and post when I can be bothered. Not worth the hassle.
MFAT is a beacon of information but it's becoming more like a playground in a school.
Just look at MF and the 'Open Message to Whitey'...... Yes the words and phrases are bigger and more 'grown up' but it's still the same stupid thing. That turned into a slugfest.

Apologies for posting in the Help section about the Retreat, I didn't see this as I was only quickly browsing before.

Wally,

I don't have a problem with an individual.
I voiced my opinions and thoughts as invited by Beast, Admin and Sneaky Beaky. You have opined your feelings on 'free speech' several times.

I sent you several of Ria's PMs in good faith, until you accused me of being The Mole.

The PMs exist. I will send them to Beast or Admin and they can read them out to you.

Ho, ho, ho!

Wally,
I have no desire to destroy this site.
I have sent you several of the PMs, and have your answers.
Beast and Admin can have access to them anytime.
They would find them quite interesting.
